Welcome Teacher

The buses are running, chalkboards are cleaned, and the lessons are written. School is baaaack!! Whether we like it or not school is back in session. It is a time for seeing old friends, meeting new ones, and finding out which teacher to avoid. Something that hasn’t changed over the past few years is the fact that we still live under NCLB and its unattainable goals. This year we will not only have testing in the areas of Math and Reading, but History and Science as well. Our school made great strides last year with double digit increases in nearly every category. But this is a new year and we are looking to do even better. Our students seem to have bought into the idea of state testing, which has helped immensely. Testing will be here before we know it. It should be a good year and the students are ready, I hope. Good luck wherever you are and remember testing is not an accurate gauge of your teaching.
